Why NterNow Joined Allegion — And What It Means for You

When we founded NterNow, we had one goal: make it easier and safer for home builders to let prospective buyers tour properties on their own terms — from dusk to dawn, without a sales agent present. That mission hasn’t changed. But how we pursue it just got a whole lot more powerful.

In February 2026, NterNow officially joined the Allegion family — the company behind Schlage, one of the most trusted names in residential security for over a century. We announced the partnership at the 2026 International Builders’ Show in Orlando, and the industry's response was everything we could have hoped for.

Here’s why we made this move — and why we believe it’s the right one for our builders, our buyers, and the future of residential access. We wanted to scale up our teams and provide better service, more features, and more innovation.

Scale Was Becoming Our Biggest Challenge

NterNow has been growing fast. And growth is a good problem to have — until it isn’t. To keep delivering the best self-tour experience in the industry, we needed a partner with the infrastructure, resources, and reach to help us scale without compromise.

Allegion brings exactly that. With operations in over 130 countries and decades of experience in physical and digital access technology, they’re not just a company we admire — they’re the right strategic partner to take NterNow to the next level.

Security Has Always Been at the Core

Builders trust us with access to their most valuable assets — their homes. That trust is sacred to us. It’s why we’ve always built security into everything we do.

Joining Schlage and Allegion means that security commitment is now backed by over 100 years of hardware and software expertise. The same company that protects millions of homes across America is now behind the platform that helps builders sell them. That’s not just a headline — it’s a foundation.

A Whole-Lifecycle Solution for Home Builders

One of the most exciting things about this partnership is what it means for the full builder journey. Schlage already provides the smart home security solutions that homeowners rely on after closing. NterNow now fills in the front end — enabling secure, on-demand access during the prospecting and sales process.

Together, we cover the entire residential lifecycle. From the moment a prospective buyer schedules a self-guided tour to the day they lock their front door as a homeowner, Allegion and NterNow are there.

What This Means for Our Builders

For the builders we serve today and those we’ll serve tomorrow, this partnership translates into real, tangible improvements:

  • Doubling headcount in 2026 to enhance support, engineering, and innovation
  • Continued vendor-agnostic approach — we still work with all smart lock brands, security systems, and hubs
  • Heavy investment into AI-powered products that make the self-tour experience even smarter
  • Hardware improvements that make activation and installation faster and easier for your team

In short: more resources, more people, and more innovation — all pointed at solving your toughest access and sales challenges.

The Brand and Team You Know Aren’t Going Anywhere

We know change can raise questions. So let us be direct: NterNow remains NterNow. Our brand continues. Our team remains at the helm. Barrett and the entire NterNow crew are still here, still leading, and still obsessed with building the best self-tour platform in the business.

We also remain vendor-agnostic. We’ll continue supporting all smart locks, security systems, and third-party integrations — because your flexibility matters more than any single hardware relationship.

“The expertise of both Schlage and Allegion will only help us drive our mission, improve our customer experiences, and amplify the number of builders we can serve.”

Looking Ahead

The home building industry is evolving. Buyers expect convenience. Builders need efficiency. And security can never be an afterthought. Joining Allegion gives NterNow the platform to meet all three of those demands — at scale, with confidence.

We’re excited about what’s next. And we’re grateful to be building it alongside the builders and teams who’ve trusted us from the start.

Sincerely,
Barrett Davis
